So
lastnight Bo and Charles were out in the back and Bo was practicing his archery skills, as hunting season is quickly
approahing. Charles comes in and tells me that Daddy want me to come outside and watch him, which is usual, we all usually sit outside together and watch. So I went out and sat on the deck, Bo tells me to put shoes on so I can come out by him in the grass.....
ok. So I did. Went out with him, he shot his bow a couple times and I watched. Now, if you know us very well you know that Bo is an avid hunter, and I have gotten really in to it myself. Last year I got my first deer, with a
muzzle loader. Anyway, so I am out there with Bo and he hands me a release (for you non bow-hunters, that is what you use to pull back and 'release' the bow string) and says he is going to let the weight down on his to see if I can pull it back (all bows have different draw weights, his is set at like 60lbs but can go down to about 40) so I am standing there waiting. All of a sudden he gets this giddy look on his face and says "alright, now close your eyes. I got you something." If you know Bo very well, you know he can be a prankster, so I am somewhat nervous, I just kinda laughed and said "no! You're gonna do something to me!!" He finally convinced me to close my eyes and he started leading me, he led me to the trailer, which we keep in the back yard on the side of the house. I had noticed earlier that there was a tarp laying on the trailer, but Charles' little pool was also laying up there and he had bought a tarp to set the pool up and cover so we wouldn't have to keep setting and resetting it, so I assumed that was what the tarp was for. So I hear him move the tarp around and he tells me to open my eyes. I turn around, and there is a bow case. I open it, there is a bow. For me. A bow. For me. Oh. My. Gosh. !!!!!!!!!!!! I was so excited!!!!!!! A friend had given us a bow for me to use last year, but it was older and bigger. Great to learn with, I got to shoot it last year and work my arm up a little. But this bow, is AWESOME. See, we have been looking for a few weeks at bows for me, but I really thought we were just looking. I got up to shooting that older bow last year to about 43lbs and since Bo's bow goes down that far, and he really really would like to have a new one, I fully expected to get his bow, which is a really nice bow, and find him a new bow. Makes sense, he hunts....daily, during the season. I get to hunt on some weekends and maybe a couple evenings during the week here and there. So when he told me
last night that he was going to let down and see if I could shoot his bow, I really thought that was what was going to happen. He would let it down, I would be able to pull it back, and I would get his bow. So when I opened that case and saw that I had a brand new bow, the exact one I had picked out as my favorite while we were looking, I just couldn't believe it!!!! How awesome is my husband?? I still just can't believe it. I cannot wait to start practicing with it, I got to shoot it a couple times
last night but it was getting too dark. Thank you Bo. You are
amazing!!
I haven't had a chance to take a picture of my actual bow yet, but here are some pics of it I found. It is a Hoyt
Trykon Sport. Hoyt is one of the top brands in compound bows (yes, it is what Michael Waddell shoots. If you don't know who Michael Waddell is, shame on you!!).
These pictures are of bare-bows (no accessories), Bo had mine loaded down with all the accessories :) :) :) so I will be taking pictures and posting again soon!!!!!

Loves, Hugs, and archery equipment!!
